Your photos should all be wides that show 1) Deep space, 2) Flat space, and 3) Contrast of space, line, shape, tone, or color.
Photo #1
For this group of photos, in preparation for my scene from Blade Runner 2049 this week, I wanted to get some cool dystopian, stylized shots. For this first photo, I wanted to create a stark, cold environment. The space is not very deep, but we do see the depth cues being created by the walls, as well as the chairs. The symmetry creates a tight, controlled look.
Photo #2
For this next one, I wanted to flatten the space, to create a bit less tense scene. Perhaps this is our protagonist. The warm glow illuminating him feels almost friendly. The long focal length (I was somewhere around an 80mm) helps to flatten the space, which would otherwise be rather deep.
Photo #3
This last photo demonstrates a contrast of tone, creating a bit of an unbalanced image, at least in terms of value. I messed a bit with the colors here to create a more 2049-esque world, and the wide angle helps to dwarf the lady walking in, showing the human element of the world being swallowed up in what the humans have created for humans... #deep
