Your photos should show 1) Desaturation, 2) Saturation, 3) Monochromatic color. Do not rely solely on post-processing (editing) to achieve this.

For this first photo, I wanted to capture the cold and (no offense, Provo) somewhat bland area of downtown Provo. Like, they're trying! Look at those cute lights! But the denaturation in this image gives it a rather cold feel. The color pallete is limited and the lighting fairly dim. This is through the eyes of someone who is perhaps not fully in their surroundings, maybe after a difficult breakup or tragedy in the family. The landscape is there but dark and flat.

Okay, Jonny was looking at saturated in his purple jacket, as he is know to look. He also thought he could be Joaquin Phoenix for this shot. The surroundings are not as saturated, which help the jacket to pop. It would be interesting to see Jonny in this same pose and outfit with a color background behind him, though.

Green. That's what we are looking at here. I wanted the image to feel like it could belong in a very clean, modern, and sterile institution. The bright colors are happy, yet the monochromatic nature of the image almost give it this tight, controlling look that could spell trouble for our protagonist as he navigates the white hallways, with green plants dotted around, almost as if a wellness/happiness quota needed to be met in the facility wherein he traverses...

Tanner, great images as always. Your first image has a nice limited color palate and a great desaturated feeling that works nicely. Your second image has some awesome color and I'd also love to see a colored background with it to see how that affects the image. Your third image looks like it could be product photography, love the clean lines and aesthetic.
Your photos are always so beautiful and I think each photo does a really good job of portraying the quality of color that it is meant to show. Each photo always has such a clear feeling ant story which matches the quality of color that it portrays. Your desaturation photo is definitely gloomy and bland, the saturation photo with Jonathan is super fun and happy, and I especially like the last photo and how it feels so calm and clean, reflecting the unity and simplicity of a monochromatic color palette.
